Jeffrey Leever - Dark Friday

I had the idea for the plot of the book first. Then I think I made an intentional decision to put it in a real place. Somehow I came across the name Jasonville online, which is a name that struck me because -- when paired with some of the plot elements in my book -- it just sounded right. Then I came to Jasonville and spoke with some people. A young lady mentioned to me the alleged Paul Harvey quote "If you want to get away with murder, go to Greene County, Indiana." I think that quote might just be "urban legend" (or is it "rural legend?), but it got me thinking. There really is a strong "might get away with murder" element to my story. I dug around a little more, explored some nearby areas, and did some more research. I kept finding little geographical things -- secluded lakes, forested areas, tall cornfields -- that intrigued me as a suspense writer. It seemed like an ideal setting.
